Therapeutic Approach

My approach to therapy varies depending on the issues to be resolved and your personal needs as a client.  I draw on family of origin and systems theory, as well as client-centered, cognitive, and behavioral therapy. I attend to the dynamics of significant interpersonal relationships. I also take seriously the spiritual dimension of therapeutic issues and, without imposing my views, am happy to discuss this dimension with anyone who wishes.

Education and Experience

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Behavior Science from Northwest College in Kirkland, WA and have attended graduate studies at Seattle Pacific University and Antioch University, Seattle.  My counseling career began in 1990, working with adolescent boy’s groups, individual and couples counseling, family counseling and social skills.

I am presently a counselor and Men’s Domestic Violence Treatment Facilitator. Prior to affiliating with Northwest Family Life, I was a counselor at Cedar River Counseling in Renton, WA.  I was also the owner of Mac’s Cleaners.

Personal Experiences and Interests

Travel is a major interest for me and my wife Sheryl. I have travelled most places a person can think of. I also love music, cooking, reading, and getting to know people.
